Mmm...Rosemary Mixed Nuts (Spicy, Sweet, Savory & Salty!)

I apologize for the lack of recipes on my food blog! Life has been full and grand and a priority.

But I have a wonderful treat for you today!

In preparation for our upcoming 4th of July party at our river cabin, I was looking for a nice addition to our cheese board lunch. I came across the idea of rosemary mixed nuts, started googling recipes and just now ate my very first pecan.

Yes.

Wait for it.

Yup.

Oh.My.God.

Phenomenal.

Truly.

So, for a quick, delicious-in-so-many-ways party food, give these a try.

Rosemary Mixed Nuts (Spicy, Sweet, Savory & Salty!)

2 cups unsalted mixed nuts (next time we're just using pecans and cashews)
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
sea salt

Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Add nuts and toast until fragrant, stirring often and careful not to let them burn. Drop in butter to melt and toss. Cook nuts in butter for a few minutes.

In a bowl, mix together the sugars, the cayenne and the rosemary. Sprinkle mixture over the nuts, stirring until equally distributed, and cook for a few minutes. Cook until the sugar melts and caramelizes, so that it sticks to each nut.

Transfer nuts to a cookie sheet, spreading them in a single layer. Sprinkle with sea salt. Eat, serve and/or store once the nuts have cooled (perhaps with your own cheese board and some fine wines!).

YUM!!!
