...HellO ROSEMARY!!

So here's the story:
I picked Jake up from work one day and he happily skipped out of the library (which he does most days), opened the car door and reported to me that he'd LOVE to bake a pie...could we stop to buy the ingredients??
He chose to bake an apple pie, and so he ran into the store and bought apples.
When we got home, Chef Sam was doing some cooking in the kitchen that smelled FANTASTIC. He was cooking a little leg of lamb slice that I had gotten for him, and he was doing it in a pan with some fresh rosemary and olive oil. OhMyGod...even Jake, vegetarian for several years, thought it smelled phenomenal.
Jake told Sam about his pie-making plans...mostly because they both had expressed an interest in making a pie earlier in the week. Then Sam had a great idea, since we were all apple-pie-excited AND completely taken by the aroma of his rosemary leg of lamb...he suggested that we add fresh rosemary to the apple pie.
YES!!!
And so we did.
Jake made his first-ever pie crust and it was FABULOUS.
Sam chopped up the rosemary.
Jake & Sam peeled and sliced the apples, and added the other ingredients.
And the result was truly The Best Apple Pie Of My Life (and yes, I have had quite a few in my 47 years here on earth!).
It would be difficult for me to write up a recipe, because I feel that apple pies are a personal/family thing...a matter of *taste* and a personal preference as far as consistency...
But if you take your regular apple pie recipe that you use, substitute some of the white sugar for a little brown, and add maybe 2 teaspoons of chopped, fresh rosemary, then I don't believe you will be disappointed at ALL.

EnJOY.
